Green Wellie Team

Children are born ready, able and eager to learn, and as an individual they will have opportunities to interact in positive relationships. Although you and your child will get to know all of the team at Green Wellie, your child will have a key person to help them feel special, happy and safe, easing the settling in process and giving you a main point of contact.

We work closely with our parents and carers ensuring an essential two way communication partnership. Please share your child’s development, learning and progress with your child’s key person to ensure we meet their individual needs.

The nursery employs a managing director (NNEB) and two nursery mangers (job share); one with a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the Children and Young People’s Workforce – Early Years Practice whom has been with us for 9 years, and one with a HND in Business and Finance and City & Guilds Diploma Early Years Educator, who has been with us for 3 years and prior to joining us had over 10 years experience in two local schools.

Our deputy manager  holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (Early Years) and is our pre-school room leader in ‘Great Inventors’ whom has been with us for 6 years.

The 2 year olds room leader for ‘Young Explorers’ has a BA Honours in Childhood Studies 2:1

The under two’s room leader in our baby end ‘Little Discoverer’s has an NVQ level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning & Development with many years experience.

In addition to the above we have 11 other members of staff:  Two senior NNEB early years practitioners (office based) both NNEB Level 3 in Childcare and have been employed at Green Wellie together for over 42 years, they were previous room leaders, had families and returned part time. 1 member holds a level 4, with 5 other members of the team holding Level 3 Early Years qualifications. 2 members of staff are currently completing their level 3 Early Years qualifications in-setting, and last but not least we also employ a lovely lunch time assistant.

We believe that it is essential to not only employ quality staff, but staff who want to further their training, knowledge and skills in order to provide good quality teaching, providing firm foundations for children’s school readiness. Staff are able to attend many relevant training sessions to improve their personal development, and in turn improve our children’s learning.

We are extremely lucky to have an amazing team, who genuinely care, love and nurture our children, we are often referred to as ‘The Green Wellie Family’ by past and present parents who recommend us (Please see our Testimonials page, evidence to back this up can be found in our Parent & Professionals Correspondence file at nursery)
