Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS)
The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum is embedded in everything we do, helping us to engage children to develop their personalities, talents and abilities.
These very important life stages from ages 0-5 years help your child become ‘school ready’ preparing them for their future learning and successes. At Green Wellie, we make sure this is achieved in a happy, active, exciting, fun and secure environment, supporting their individual developmental and learning needs.
Learning and development are all interconnected, children engage with others in our stimulating environment both inside and outside. By playing, exploring, actively learning and thinking critically; children remain effective and motivated learners.
British values are also at the focus of our planning and embedded throughout the EYFS.
The EYFS focuses on the things that matter; helping your child develop. It is important to us that you feel comfortable exchanging information with us as often as possible, enabling us to work closely with you and your child.
Your child will be learning new skills and acquiring new knowledge whilst demonstrating their understanding; our qualified practitioners will teach and support your child as an individual with unique needs through 7 areas of learning and development:
- 3 Prime Areas: communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.
As children grow these prime areas will help them to develop skills in:
- 4 Specific Areas: literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts/design.
